We are thrilled to invite you to the official website for The Greater Toronto Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; a U.S.-based, not-for-profit organization dedicated to public service. Founded in 1913 by 22 dynamic trailblazers, our illustrious sisterhood boasts over 200,000 members from the business, academic and arts industries, including Angela Bassett, Soledad O’Brien, Aretha Franklin, Cicely Tyson, Nikki Giovanni, and many other luminaries.

Over fourteen years ago, we embarked on a journey to build upon our sorority’s remarkable legacy, and on April 14, 2018, the fulfillment of a highly-anticipated dream came true with the establishment of the first Canadian chapter – adding to an impressive list of international chapters in Jamaica, Japan, Bermuda, The Virgin Islands, Germany, The Bahamas, Korea, Southern Africa, and West Africa.

It was a moment none of us will soon forget, but now the real work begins…
Dorothy I. Height once said, “Without community service, we would not have a strong quality of life. It’s important to the person who serves as well as the recipient. It’s the way in which we ourselves grow and develop.” Given our local members’ diverse expertise and passion for uplifting those in need, we are poised and ready to join other notable organizations at the forefront of creating and supporting meaningful initiatives to enhance the well-being of underserved communities.

Together, we can and will leave an indelible mark on our world-class city!
